Radiology Information System with PACS Integration
A radiology workflow system connected to imaging equipment and picture archiving, from request through to reported study.

The challenge
Radiology sits between two worlds. On one side is the clinical workflow — the request, the scheduling, the report, the delivery back to the referring clinician. On the other is physical imaging equipment producing large volumes of image data through manufacturer-specific interfaces. Departments that treat these as separate problems end up with staff manually bridging them, which is slow and introduces exactly the kind of error a diagnostic department cannot absorb.
The solution
We built a radiology information system that treats the equipment integration as part of the clinical workflow rather than an attachment to it. Requests flow through scheduling to acquisition; images are archived and retrievable against the study record; reporting completes the loop back to the requesting clinician. The integration work was done directly against device interfaces and manufacturer SDKs, so the department does not maintain a manual step between the machine and the record.
Core modules
- Imaging request and referral handling
- Scheduling and modality allocation
- Study and patient record linkage
- PACS archiving and retrieval
- Reporting and result delivery
- Departmental administration
Engineering
- Integration with imaging equipment via manufacturer SDKs
- PACS integration for image archiving and retrieval
- Handling of large image data volumes
- Backend services linking device output to clinical records
- Access control over diagnostic data
- Interfaces with adjacent hospital systems
Scale & complexity
- 01Large image data volumes retained over time
- 02Multiple imaging modalities in one workflow
- 03Continuous departmental operation
- 04Retrieval performance across an accumulating archive

Result
Radiology requests, acquisition, archiving and reporting run as one workflow with equipment integrated directly into it. Verified departmental metrics are shared under engagement rather than published.
Interface imagery is withheld where client systems contain operational data. Approved screenshots replace these panels.
